After two years of operation, the Southeast Regional Urgent Care Association held its inaugural SERUCA conference October 25-26 for Urgent Care operators and clinicians in the Southeast. For two days, those working in Urgent Care centers across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee enjoyed the networking and education in Atlanta.
“We wanted to put people together, and by putting people together, that creates an impetus to move the ball forward,” SERUCA Founder and President Bernie Short, MD said.
Key Highlights:
Members pay less: As a UCA member you receive $500 off the full price of the report. Learn more about becoming a member.
“I found the UCA Clinician Compensation Benchmarking Report highly insightful and useful. Not only did it cover compensation but also thoroughly addressed clinician mix, comfort level with patients per hour and training. It was easy to read and provided truly meaningful data for clinicians, managers, owners/operators and hospital corporations operating Urgent Care centers. I highly recommend reviewing this data.”
Holding an Organizational Membership with UCA means that each member of your team is also a member of UCA and has access to free benefits and resources such as:

We are looking for enthusiastic writers willing to share their knowledge with others on the specialty of Urgent Care medicine. Case reports, review articles, op-ed pieces, tricks of the trade, hot topics or even poems or other art relevant to the practice of Urgent Care are accepted. Have a colleague who has done something unique or outstanding? Let us know. We learn from each other, so if you have something to share, please consider writing an article for the official publication of the College of Urgent Care Medicine. Have a good idea but not sure where to start? We are happy to help.
We also need more peer reviewers (time commitment of less than a one-hour per quarter). Reviewers read an article, make sure it is relevant and evidence-based and complete a one-page form with their findings.
You may submit online or email Tracey or Cesar with any comments, suggestions or brainstorming ideas.
The deadline for the next issue is December 10, 2024. We can’t wait to see what you will submit.
Urgent Updates are curated highlights of guidelines, reviewed by (and some directly coming from) Urgent Care clinicians. These highlights represent the actual intent of these articles and how they relate to the practice of Urgent Care medicine.
Join us for a 3-part webinar series during U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week. Talks will cover three different topics including the science of the microbiome, lacerations and abscess and ear complaints from an antibiotic approach.
