Announcing New Clinical Group: Urgent Care College of Physicians

As we continue to move the recognition of Urgent Care medicine as a specialty forward, the College of Urgent Care Medicine (CUCM) has designated a new group to assist in these efforts: the Urgent Care College of Physicians.

Why?
The purpose of the Urgent Care College of Physicians (UCCOP) is to foster clinical leadership and quality through the promotion of evidence-based clinical practice, research, competencies, clinical response, and the development, dissemination and curation of medical education.

The existence of not one, but two clinical Urgent Care organizations will allow us expand our work, our reach and create new partnerships toward our goals for Urgent Care medicine. It is also a necessary step to amplify our voice as we pursue admission into the Specialty and Service Society (SSS) of the American Medical Association.

Board of Directors Information
The new CUCM Board of Directors will require a certain percentage of APC members, in recognition of the important role they play in care and best practices.  The UCCOP Board will have 2 APCs represented, even though it is a physician entity.
