Cassandra Barnette Donnelly, DO

Dr. Donnelly is an emergency medicine physician and the Chair of the Urgent Care Association, Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She is the Regional Medical Director of Piedmont Urgent Care in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Donnelly joined the company in 2013 and has served in various leadership roles. She is a member of the Piedmont Healthcare Organization, Clinical Governance Council and serves as Lead for the Urgent Care Task Force. Dr. Donnelly’s career began as a pediatric nurse in home care and the emergency department. She then went on to receive her Masters in Nursing at Emory University, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International Society of Nursing. 

She earned her medical degree from Rowan University, School of Osteopathic Medicine (formerly University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ). Dr. Donnelly completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where she served as Chief Resident. Upon graduation, she returned to Emory University and completed a fellowship in EMS/Disaster Medicine. She has published research on EMS Provider Experiences of Hospice Care in Prehospital and Emergency Care. Additionally, she has published written educational materials for families of chronically ill children in the Journal of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. 

Dr. Donnelly resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and their twins. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
