The Management of Elevated Blood Pressure in the Acute Care Setting: A Scientific Statement from the American Heart Association
Despite the ubiquity of elevated inpatient BPs, few position papers, guidelines or consensus statements have focused on improving BP management in the acute care setting. Therefore, this scientific statement aims to synthesize the available evidence, provide suggestions for best practice based on the available evidence, identify evidence-based gaps in managing elevated inpatient BP (asymptomatic and hypertensive emergency) and highlight areas requiring further research. FDOH Urges Floridians to Avoid Floodwaters and Prevent Exposure to Vibrio Vulnificus
The Florida Department of Health urges residents and visitors to avoid floodwaters and prevent exposure to Vibrio in anticipation of flooding and heavy rain. While floodwaters are present, there is an increased risk of Vibrio infections, such as Vibrio vulnificus, which can be life-threatening. Vibrio bacteria, commonly found in warm coastal waters, can cause illness when ingested or when open wounds are exposed to contaminated water. Full Access: FDOH
International Headache Society Global Practice Recommendations for the Acute Pharmacological Treatment of Migraine
A selected group of international senior and junior headache experts developed the recommendations, following expert consensus and the review of available national and international headache guidelines and guidance documents.
