We’re pleased to share that Steve Sellars, CEO of the Urgent Care Association (UCA), has been nominated for the Experity Limelight Awards, which recognize leaders who are making a meaningful impact on the future of Urgent Care.
The Limelight Awards celebrate individuals who demonstrate innovation, leadership and a strong commitment to patient‑first care. Steve’s nomination reflects his long‑standing dedication to advancing the field, supporting providers and strengthening Urgent Care as a whole.
Please join us in congratulating Steve on this well‑deserved recognition and in celebrating the leaders who continue to move Urgent Care forward.
In this episode, we’re joined by Martha Williams, PA-C, and Dr. Jenna White, an emergency medicine and EMS physician, to discuss the critical role Urgent Care clinicians play in recognizing pregnancy-related and postpartum emergencies. Together, they explore how seemingly vague or low-acuity symptoms, such as shortness of breath, facial swelling, or mildly elevated blood pressure, can signal serious, life‑threatening conditions in pregnant and postpartum patients.
The conversation highlights practical strategies clinicians can implement immediately, including better history-taking, vital sign interpretation and the use of ACOG-developed algorithms to guide timely escalation of care. This episode offers actionable insights to help Urgent Care teams improve risk stratification, strengthen handoffs to the emergency department and ultimately save lives.
