Position Statement on the Removal of Government Healthcare Websites

The College of Urgent Care Medicine strongly opposes the recent removal of critical health information from federal websites, including the CDC and NIH. Urgent Care clinicians are on the front lines, with 15,000 clinics nationwide caring for 200 million patients annually. We rely on accurate, up-to-date data to guide patient care, from infectious diseases to behavioral health concerns.

Restricting access to this information directly impacts our ability to make informed decisions and protect public health. We join other physician organizations in calling for the immediate restoration of these vital resources.

We urge Congress to ensure federal health agencies provide unrestricted access to essential health data. As the frontline providers of acute care, we remain committed to advocating for transparency and the availability of lifesaving medical information.
