Defining your organizational scope of care is an oftentimes overlooked, but an essential activity.
Scope of practice discussions often result in many questions, but whether you are a seasonal, rural, pediatric, or a full service comprehensive urgent care; defining your organizational scope of care is an oftentimes overlooked, but an essential activity. The established scope of care serves as the foundation to an organization’s quality program. This course will guide you to see how your organizational scope drives everything in your business including decisions made by your governing body, policies and procedures, hiring, competencies, training and provider privileging. It also helps identify procedures, actions, and processes your practice is prepared to perform and how to respond when proposed services fall outside of it. With new technology, staff turnover, and continuous evolving treatment, it is imperative for both leaders and staff to establish a clear scope and identify appropriate resources to help guide the patient care experience.
