June 18: Mitigating AI Data Security Risks presented by Mateo Montoya

AI is revolutionizing healthcare with its ability to process large volumes of data and make quick, intelligent decisions. However, the rise of AI also brings significant data security risks. These risks can lead to data breaches, unauthorized access, and misuse of sensitive information. To ensure the secure deployment of AI systems, it is crucial to understand these risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

June 20: Transforming Medical Coding & Billing with AI: Insight presented by Sameer Ather, MD, PhD

Medical coding and billing are critical processes often performed manually, leading to inefficiencies such as missed revenue, higher costs, and delays. Additionally, manual coding lacks feedback mechanisms for providers to enhance clinical documentation and performance analysis across different sites.
AI has made remarkable strides in recent years. Innovations in natural language processing and robotic process automation have significantly improved revenue cycle management efficiency (RCM). In this webinar, Dr. Sameer Ather will explore how AI-enabled medical coding reduces denials, lowers costs, and minimizes charge entry lag while enhancing revenue and providing valuable clinical documentation improvement (CDI) feedback.

June 27: Reduction in ER Referrals due to AI and Advanced Clinical Algorithms presented by John Adie, PhD, FACRRM, FRACGP, FRNZCUC, FRNZGP, B.Min., MBChB, BHB and Morris Pita, MBA
High proportions of patients who present to emergency departments can be seen in urgent care clinics and patients are likely to follow the advice of the triage nurse if they are referred to a family medicine practitioner. New Zealand’s Emergency Q’s cloud-based system is a leading example of the use of AI and advanced clinical algorithms to support emergency department triage nurses to accurately and safely identify patients who are clinically suitable to be offered the choice of transfer to primary care. We present twelve months of data from referral from four large metropolitan 24-hour emergency departments to eleven urgent care centres using Emergency Q software which resulted in an eight percent reduction in emergency department admissions.
