Vision for the Future of Urgent Care and Core Purpose for UCA for the next 3-5 Years:
Urgent care is an essential and growing part of the healthcare delivery model, filling the gap between primary care and emergency medicine. As access to same-day primary care remains limited, urgent care centers will continue to be a vital option for patients seeking timely, cost-effective treatment.
To meet future demands, urgent cares must offer care when and how patients need it- through consistent hours, telemedicine, access to specialty services within the centers, and smooth transitions back to primary or specialty care through referrals. Leaders must also stay ahead of payer changes and trends in ambulatory and acute care environments to ensure continued access and innovation. With a patient-focused approach, urgent care will remain a key drive of accessible and connected care.
