$0.00

STI Insights: Real-World Strategies for Urgent Care brings together leading clinicians and industry experts to explore the evolving landscape of STI testing, diagnosis, treatment, and patient education in the urgent care setting. Presented in collaboration with Roche, this five-part series delivers practical guidance, case-based discussions, and operational insights to help urgent care teams provide high-quality, evidence-informed care.

Presented by The College of Urgent Care Medicine.

Episode 1: What Would You Do?

This case-based episode asks our panel, “What would you do?” to different patient presentations for STIs. What requires a full screen, and what testing should be included in a full screen? Is self-swab appropriate? How would you approach treatment? And more.

Episode 2: When Is It OK To Test?

When is testing the answer? Our panel of clinicians discusses approaches to asymptomatic patients who present to the Urgent Care with STI concerns, ureaplasma, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and more. Urgent Care is an accessible way to seek care, and part of the UC clinician’s role is educating patients on when it is appropriate and not appropriate to test.

Episode 3: Special Populations

This episode focuses on higher-risk populations and targeted differences to consider when seeing patients in these populations. Special populations discussed include men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women who have sex with men. Topics cover: special considerations, PrEP and when to use it, Doxy PEP and when to use it, follow-up, barriers to care and more.

Episode 4: Syphilis

Syphilis can be a bit of a mystery when it comes to Urgent Care presentations. But with this panel discussion, listeners will walk away feeling prepared to overcome barriers to treatment and management of syphilis in the Urgent Care setting. Featuring case studies and candid discussions with practicing clinicians.

Episode 5: Beyond the Swab: Making Smarter Testing Decisions

Choosing the right testing for your Urgent Care center isn’t always as straightforward as you may think. Our panel walks through different considerations including CLIA-waived, CLIA-moderate, the biggest mistakes operators make, barriers when considering different platforms, reimbursement, addressing clinician education and more.
