Urgent Care Awareness Month Resources

Urgent Care centers are staples in the cities and towns we serve; where else will residents bring their sick kid in the evening, or avoid an hours-long wait for a laceration or burn? It’s these cases and so many others that illustrate why Urgent Care is essential and needs to be around in the long term.

So, this Urgent Care Awareness Month, plan a community event, host a fundraiser, offer free screenings and/or up your marketing presence. Whatever you can do will aid not only in elevating your voice, but our collective voice. The more our patients understand and see our message, the easier it will be to eventually mobilize them in supporting us in our Advocacy work.

May 2 Declared Urgent Care Appreciation Day in South Carolina

Grassroots Advocacy Works!

Twenty UCA members from South Carolina and beyond convened on May 2 at the Blatt Building to meet with State Representative Chris Wooten.

Wooten has officially declared May 2 as Urgent Care Appreciation Day in South Carolina. UCA members gathered for this momentous occasion and shared their stories, including challenges for Urgent Care in their regions and fostered valuable connections for future efforts.

Special “thank-yous” go out to: District 69 State Representative Chris Wooten for spearheading this landmark event, Patrick O’Malley, MD for his efforts in organizing and to all the UCA members who dedicated their day to advocating for our industry.

Many individuals do not have a regular source of health care, and they rely on this accessible form of healthcare. Unfortunately, people who do not have a regular source of healthcare may miss out on routine screenings and preventive health interventions. HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is our primary tool against HIV, but it remains underutilized among those most susceptible to HIV.
