As detailed in a recent article in the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine, president-elect Donald Trump has nominated Janette Nesheiwat, MD as the next Surgeon General. With a background as medical director for UCA member organization CityMD, Nesheiwat brings valuable firsthand experience from the field of Urgent Care to the national healthcare conversation. Her work emphasizes the importance of accessible, immediate care, making her uniquely equipped to highlight Urgent Care’s critical role in public health.

Peter Lamelas, MD Named Next Ambassador to Argentina

President-elect Donald Trump has named Peter Lamelas, MD the next Ambassador to Argentina. As a lifetime Urgent Care Association member, Lamelas served as a UCA board member from 2008 to 2014 and as an Urgent Care Foundation board member from 2021-2022. Lamelas was chair of the Legislative Committee and has served on both the Certification Committee and the Accreditation Founding Committee. In 2016, he won UCA’s prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award. He founded MD Now Urgent Care in Florida.
