Sam has a background in public relations, marketing and journalism. She oversees UCA – and its sister organizations’ – communications and other storytelling elements. Before UCA, she had been an agency account executive, a brand manager, and a marketing manager for organizations around Buffalo, NY. She is communications co-chair for a greyhound adoption group (where she adopted her best friend, Django). She loves writing and telling stories so much that she wrote a children’s book in 2021.

Her interests outside of work include hiking, freelance writing, reading, attending concerts and traveling. Her favorite place she has visited (so far) is Australia.
